Winter SportsSnowmobiling: North Hastings and Bancroft are fast becoming Central Ontario's preferred snowmobile destination. The area is ideally located in the rolling hills of the York River Valley and boasts over 2000 km of groomed trails in all directions. The Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) maintains trail grooming throughout the winter. A valid Ontario Federation Snowmobile Clubs permit is required to travel on these trails. Regular snowfall and low temperatures, mostly between mid-January and late March make an ideal snowmobile season. Skiing Enthusiasts: Silent Lake Provincial Park off Highway 28, just south of Paudash, offers over 40 kilometres of groomed and track-set cross-country ski trails through picturesque woodlands. Algonquin Park and the Whitney area also have excellent groomed trails for the whole family to enjoy. |
